Posted September 08, 2018 12:14:24Los Angeles Lakers star guard D’Angelo Russell said the team was “feeling pretty good” in the second half of its five-game road trip after missing the last four games with a sprained left ankle.
Russell said the Lakers’ effort against the Golden State Warriors was “pretty good,” and said they played well in the fourth quarter against the Oklahoma City Thunder and Atlanta Hawks.
“We didn’t get enough stops in the paint, and they got too many offensive rebounds and missed shots,” Russell said.
“I think our defense was good.
We’ve got to get back to being aggressive, but we didn’t have a lot of stops.”
The Lakers went 6 of 15 from 3-point range.
They shot 46 percent in the first half and made only 17 of 39 from beyond the arc in the half.
The Warriors are 4 of 20 from beyond a 3-pointer.
Los Angeles, which had a five-point lead at halftime and led by as many as 16 points at one point, gave up a season-high 20 fourth-quarter points.
