The new Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are both capable of streaming video from a third-party website and the PS4 has the ability to stream its own games.
The Xbox One has also been praised for its ability to connect to other systems via Bluetooth and has been used by many major studios for its creative tools.
But a new report claims the Xbox One doesn’t have the best game library of all the console’s rivals, and the PC gaming platform is missing from the list.IGN reports that Sony’s PlayStation 4 and Microsoft’s Xbox One have a combined 3.5 billion and 3.6 billion game library respectively, but Sony’s games are “not available for streaming,” while Microsoft’s games “are available for download.”
In addition to the Xbox and PlayStation titles, Nintendo’s Wii U also lacks a dedicated games library.
It does however, have the ability, according to IGN, to play online games, download titles and stream video, but it lacks the ability for third-parties to connect the console to a PC and play the games it does have.IGN has reached out to Sony and Microsoft for comment, and will update this story if we receive a response.
