By now you’re probably aware that Oculus VR is building its own gaming platform and, by default, its games are not designed for a desktop platform.
This means that you won’t be able to run games like Doom 3 on a Rift or PSVR.
You can still create your own games, of course, but you’re going to have to deal with a lack of cross-platform compatibility and a lot of weird quirks when it comes to importing, saving, and playing your games.
So, if you’re building a game for a new device, you’ll want to know how to make it work on a PC.
That’ll give you a little bit of insight into how Oculus VR will work with the PC, and hopefully help you decide if you should go with the Oculus Rift or not.
We’re going get into that, but first, let’s get to the best ways to make games on Oculus VR.
How to Make Games on Oculus Rift¶ The first step in making a game on Oculus is to create a new game.
Oculus offers a bunch of options for how to create games for your PC, but the easiest way to start is to go to the Oculus Developer Tools.
You’ll need to open the Developer Tools and then select Create New Game.
You may be prompted to create the title and subtitle, and you’ll need a lot to work with, but it’s easy enough.
Here’s what you’ll find in the Developer tools for creating a game using the Oculus SDK.
Name it whatever you like, and name it something that resembles a title and a subtitle.
The title will be the name of your game, and the subtitle will be a text description that will be displayed on your screen.
Once you’ve finished, hit the Create button and your game should now be open.
For more information on how to edit the title of your Oculus Rift game, check out this tutorial from the Oculus developer forums.
For now, though, we’ll stick to the basics.
First, go to your Oculus Home app, click the menu button in the top-right corner, and then choose the Oculus VR Developer Tools menu item.
Click the menu icon in the bottom-right to open Developer Tools, and click the Create Game button to begin.
You’re now in the Oculus Home Developer Tools panel.
In the right-hand panel, select Oculus Home from the menu bar.
Click Oculus Home to open.
Here you’ll see three sections: Oculus Home – This section shows the Oculus development tools that are currently open.
Select Oculus Home.
If you haven’t already, check to make sure that you’re running a recent version of Oculus Home and that you have the latest Oculus SDK available.
Oculus Home Settings – You can also create a custom controller configuration.
This will allow you to create custom controllers for your games and controls for Oculus Home, like the Vive controller and the Razer Hydra.
Oculus Rift – This is where you’ll be able create the VR experience that you want.
This is the area where you can create custom scenes, which can be very important if you want to use Oculus Home’s controller input for your game.
If your game doesn’t need a controller input, you can still make one in Oculus Home using the standard Unity controllers.
You will need to create an Oculus Rift Controller, which is a set of controls that you can use in your game for Oculus.
This section allows you to specify which VR device you want your game to use for the controller input.
Oculus VR – This area lets you specify what Oculus VR support for your Oculus VR system.
This includes everything from the minimum Oculus SDK required for your system to be compatible with Oculus VR to whether Oculus VR supports your game’s camera and microphone.
Oculus Controller Settings – This allows you specify which controller input method your game will use.
If there’s any problem with your controller input or any other problems, you will need Oculus to resolve them.
You also have the option of creating an Oculus VR Gamepad to make use of Oculus’ motion controllers, or you can choose a different input method for your VR game.
After you’ve created your game controller configuration, you’re now ready to import your game into Oculus VR and play it.
You don’t have to do anything else, and Oculus will create the Oculus Remote SDK package for you automatically.
Next, you should create a SteamVR client, which will be used to connect your Oculus Oculus Rift to SteamVR.
You should also create an Origin Client that will allow your SteamVR to connect to your Origin account.
Oculus Remote Settings – In this section, you want a list of your controllers.
If none of them are available, the default setting will be to import the default Oculus controller.
You want to specify this by clicking the Oculus Controller button in Oculus Remote.
This brings up the Oculus settings.
In this menu, you need to select Oculus controllers.
In order to use the Oculus controller in Oculus Rift, you must have a valid Oculus SDK and an Oculus controller that you created
